The overview

What it is, and why it matters.

Sometimes a chimney is too far gone to repair. Brick that crumbles at a touch, a stack that leans, mortar that has washed out of the joints through most of the height or a crown that has failed completely all point to taking it down and building it again.

We rebuild chimneys for homes in Nashville and across Middle Tennessee, either from the roofline up or from the attic or the foundation. The brick is salvaged where possible, or matched, and the new work includes flashing, a crown and a cap.

Why owners choose it

Four things done right.

Photographed and numbered

We record the old chimney so the new one has the same size, bond and character.

Brick that matches

Good salvaged brick is cleaned and reused, and new brick fills the gaps.

A flue that is right

The liner is checked or replaced so smoke and gases have a safe path.

Built to shed water

New flashing, crown and cap keep the weather out for years.

Good questions

Chimney Rebuilding: common questions

Can the old brick be reused?

Often a good share can be. Sound brick is cleaned and set aside, and new brick that matches fills in the rest. We tell you how much looks reusable before the price is set.

Will I be able to use my fireplace right away?

New mortar needs time to cure, and the flue should be inspected before use. We tell you when it is safe to use the fireplace again.
